Before you sit down with your
chosen Web developer, do your homework. Know your
preferences and your business needs.
- Search the Web for web sites of businesses that are similar (or identical) to yours. Look at the scope of those websites as well as the design and functionality; and ask yourself what you like and what you don't like.
- Pay close attention to the features
and functionality of the sites that catch your eye and decide
whether they should be on your wish list.
- Document your findings and develop
your wish list.
This is the only way a designer can gain insight into your preferences and expectations.
